At
the mouth of the Jakkals River lies
Lampberts Bay which has
transitioned from a fishing village to a holiday resort. It contains
the only
breeding colony of
Cape gannets in the world accessible on
foot and is well worth a visit.

Just
south of Lampberts Bay en route to Elandsbaai lies the
peculiar
eating place
Muisbosskerm right on the beach. It has become well known for
traditional South African dishes and
seafood prepared like it was a few
hundred years ago and you eat as and when the dishes finish cooking. It
can take a few hours if you want to partake of every dish but is an
absolutely unique experience that is a
taste sensation per minute.
