Itinerary - 9 Day Southern Namibia adventure

Day 1 D
Meet
at the
camping ground next to the Orange river and enjoy a stake barbeque. We
arrange with the owner to leave other vehicles on the farm under his
supervision.
Day 2 BLD
Cross into Namibia at the Noordoewer Border
crossing and travel along the river past Aussenkehr, Gamkap, Fish River
mouth and on to Rosh Pinah, site of a new Scorpion Zinc mine. We
overnight near Aus after 154km of gravel and 165km tar road.
Day 3 BD
After breakfast we travel to Luderitz, one of the prettiest harbour
towns in Namibia. Along the way we could spot the wild horses of the
Namib. We go on a guided tour yo the ghost town at Kolmanskop after
which there is some free time to explore Luderitz. We return to Aus and
overnight at the same place as day 2 after 25okm of tar road
Day
4 BLD
The gravel road takes us to Helmeringhausen for lunch at the hotel We
then follow a picturesque route to Sossusvlei and en route overnight at
a farm after 204 kms of gravel road.
Day 5 BLD
The longest stretch in one day will take us to Siltaire and some of the
world renowned apple tart at Moose's. Here we turn south past Bulspoort
to the Tsauchab river where our camp for the night will be in a dry
river bed with very nice facilities. (after 341km of gravel road)
Day 6 BLD
Rise very early and travel to Sossusvlei and Sesriem. A Bushman leads
us to the the Deadvlei which should be the highlight of the tour to
many. Return to our camping site after 120km tar and 120 km gravel road.
Day 7 BLD
Today takes us past Maltahöhe and Helmeringhausen to our camp near
Bethanien. 255 km gravel road.
Day 8 BLD
It is becoming progressively easier as we travel past Bethanien and
Goageb for a drink at Seeheim. We continue south on the C12 tar road on
the way to Fih River where we overnight after 90 km tar and 140 km
gravel road.
Day 9 BLD
This last day takes us past Ai Ais to meet up with the tar road 40 km
from Noordoewer. We camp together for a last night next to the Orange
River.
Day 10 B
After breakfast the tour ends and everyone returns home.
