Six Day Historical Tours - Colonial Expansion - Cape Town to Port Elizabeth Min 2 Persons For more information on this tour click here Accompany us on a 6 day tour from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth as we relive the maritime history of the Portuguese seafarers on their quest to India, and the commercial venture of the Dutch East India Company which resulted in a new colony. Follow the migration of the Free Burgers from the Mother City eastwards. Day
1: - Cape Town. We begin our tour at Cape Town's Table mountain (weather permitting) and visit the central city as well as the Castle of Good Hope and the Grand Parade. Lunch at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. A visit to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens should Table Mountain not be accessible. Overnight in Cape Town. Day 2: - Cape Peninsula. Views of continuous panoramas captivate as we round this "appendix" to Africa. We stop for lunch at Cape Point before returning to the City. Overnight in Cape Town. Day
3: - Cape Town to Swellendam. On our journey eastwards we visit Hermanus, Cape Agulhas and the Bontebok National Park before arriving at Swellendam, South Africa's second oldest town, which nestles at the foot of the Langeberg Mountains. Day 4: - Swellendam to Oudtshoorn. We cross over to the Little Karoo and pass Ladismith and Calitzdorp on our way to Oudtshoorn, famous for the Cango Caves and Ostriches. Day
5: - Oudtshoorn to Knysna. After crossing over the Robinson Pass we arrive in the seaside town of Mossel Bay before entering the Garden Route with its forests, mountains and lakes. Day 6: - Knysna to Port Elizabeth. Today we visit the Featherbed Nature Reserve in Knysna. We also travel through the Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma areas on route to Port Elizabeth, our last stop.
