Monday & Tuesday
Kalahari Desert |
We travel south into the Kalahari Desert. Green
acacias and swaying
grass contrast starkly against the red sand of
the Kalahari Dunes. Camelthorn Trees provide shade
for a multitude of desert-adapted
animals and serve as a sharp
silhouette against the setting sun on our afternoon
nature drive. A variety of
antelope, smaller mammals, insects
and reptiles inhabit this desert- explore this
specialized ecosystem on a scenic
morning walk. Our lodge
serves as the perfect oasis to enjoy the afternoon at the pool or relax
on the spacious patio of our room.

Wednesday &
Thursday
Fish River Canyon, Nama Karoo Desert |
This
morning we travel further south into the Nama Karoo Desert, a
primordial environ isolated by mountain massifs. Here the second
largest canyon on earth divides one of Namibia’s most
pristine
landscapes into seeming eternity. On a nature drive in the afternoon we
observe the fragile desert ecosystem and the plant life that thrives
there. Quiver Trees pose as gentle giants during a sundowner drink on
top of a hill. The next day we visit the daunting Fish River Canyon and
enjoy the panoramic view into one of Namibia’s most superior
wilderness areas. |
Friday & Saturday
Succulent Karoo Desert |
After
breakfast we travel to the Succulent Karoo Desert. After winter rains,
this desert unfolds in a carpet of fl owers and an explosion of bright
colours. It is one of the 20 most important biomes in the world and
counts as the most specie diverse desert on earth. We will explore the
sweeping desert plains on a nature drive in the later afternoon, the
next day we travel to a ghost town that was left to the hands of the
relentless desert.
Other attractions visited consist of the Wild Horses of the Namib
Desert, Diaz Point and the colonial town of Lüderitz. |
Sunday & Monday
Namib
Desert |
We
travel north into the oldest desert on earth, formed by the eff ect of
the cold Benguela Current. Due to early morning fog, this arid desert
becomes a life supporting structure for all its living organisms. Our
lodge stands at the foot of unique petrified dunes,
which we
will explore on a nature drive in the afternoon. The next morning we
travel to the highest dunes on earth, experiencing this soulful,
awe-inspiring place at sunrise. At Sossusvlei we clamber the
magnificent dunes to admire this desert from above. We will also visit
Sesriem Canyon, gorgedout by the might of the Tsauchab River. |
Tuesday
Return

Desert back to Windhoek, situated in a valley of the Auas Mountains.
Here we get dropped off at our accommodation of choice, and enjoy the
